Mission
The mission of the Evolution Education Institute (EEI) is to promote the
understanding of
evolution and natural selection
theory within the educational
community and society at-large and to
advocate for its inclusion in science curricula in a
manner commensurate with its importance to modern scientific thought.
In order to achieve its
mission, EEI provides educators with professional development opportunities to
increase their knowledge of evolution theory, pedagogical approaches to teaching
evolution and the
development of curricula and courses dealing with evolution. EEI also
provides outreach programs to
the general public to increase the public's awareness of
the importance of a science education that
includes a strong emphasis upon
evolution.
